To commemorate our Kansas City Convention for 2024, here we see Ozark Air Lines’ Fairchild Hiller FH-227B, N4233 as it taxis out for departure. In the background are an astounding 20 retired TWA Convair 880s! This great shot was taken by Mark Price in November 1975 and is now part of my permanent FH-227 slide collection. What a great historical shot! – Gary C. Orlando, Editor.

  • AVIATION AND AIRLINE WRITERS WANTED!

The Captain’s Log, the online journal of the World Airline Historical Society (WAHS), is looking to add to its current roster of writers.

We need people who are knowledgeable on specific aspects of airline collecting including, but not limited to, dining service items, ticket jackets, timetables, airline-issue, scale, and kit aircraft models, marketing promos and brochures, swizzle sticks, books, etc. We are also open to pieces on other subjects relevant to the aviation hobby.

Articles should range from 150-500 words in length and must be sent to us with separate captioned photos/illustrations. We do not enforce a regular schedule for article submissions and topics are chosen by the writers themselves with final editorial approval prior to go ahead.

If you are interested in writing for the oldest, and only, publication dedicated exclusively to all aspects of airline collecting and history (founded in 1977) please send a one to two paragraph writing sample on a relevant topic via email to:
    captainslog@wahsonline.com.

    Thanks and Happy Collecting!
