Airliner of the Month

Airliner of the Month

A combined effort of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, East African was the only other airline besides BOAC/BA to order the Super VC-10. North American gateway city was New York (Kennedy International) and its beautifully liveried VC-10’s were marketed as “Jambo Jet’s” in a clever “take-off” on the 747’s Jumbo Jets being readied for service about the time EAA received these British beauties. The airline sadly was dissolved in 1977.
